Why?

This will be a more difficult blog for Mommy to type. We have spent the weekend asking "why?"  On Thursday, April 24 some of mommy and daddy's close friends lost their 5.5 month old baby girl, Lainey, ...who also has a twin sister. It was a sudden, shocking, heart wrenching day and left us all asking "why?" Why them? Why Lainey? Why would this happen to such amazing parents? Why should Baby Harley be left with no twin sister? It is so easy to say "God has a plan", "everything happens for a reason", blah blah blah....in reality..it sucks..and we don't get it.

While this is never the way lessons should be taught, it puts life in perspective. Embrace the sleepless nights, laugh at tantrums, always have time for a hug, and live in the moment. Don't spend your day wondering when your kids will hit their next milestone or outgrow this phase..embrace this day and what you get to witness today.

Keegan got to spend a lot of time with Lainey and Harley and talks about them a lot. Which leaves mommy wondering...next time we visit...Keegan will ask "where is Lainey?" How do you explain that to a 3 year old who only knows joy in life....

There has been happiness and joy since our last blog, and we will prove it with photos, however we decided to start the photo bomb with a few pictures of Lainey so everyone can witness the beautiful, sweet, angel who was taken too early..

We ask everyone to pray for the family.

On to more joyful news. Keegan did manage to have some fun this weekend and earlier in the week. The weather has been gorgeous and he has been busy! He started the week off with Mommy taking the day off and just hanging out together. We ran errands, went to the park, had a play date with Ali, and went out for a special treat.

Enjoying a treat outside!

Having a popsicle break with Ali

This weekend Keegan got to go to Ali's 3rd birthday party, help Mommy plant flowers, and pretty much spent the entire weekend outside playing.

Since the weather has been nice, supper has been on the grill 80% of the time! Keegan helped Mommy sautee some green beans to go with the grill grub!

Being the professional shopper that he is, it is only fitting he have his own cart

Excuse the Santa pajamas and tennis shoes in the 70 degree weather....didn't stop him from planting a blueberry plant!

Later (after we coaxed him out of pj's) he scored his own watering can and is OBSESSED with with watering flowers now

Listening to instructions at Ali's birthday party, which was at "build a bear"

Getting his bear stuffed...he named him "cookie"

They had a station where they could give their bears a bath!

All the kiddos outside build a bear

                          Everyone's favorite..cupcake time!

After a busy day we decided on dinner at Chipotle and this kid passed out in the car on the way home...and for the first time EVER stayed asleep as we took him inside and put him in bed..gotta love outdoors and birthday parties!

Keegan had an unexpected visit from Kynnedy and loved having her over to play..teaching her lovely things

Phew! Sadly the weekend is over and another week is ready to start. But that means we are 1 week closer to meeting Baby Cooper! Keegan helped Mommy sort through baby clothes, wash and fold today and is getting more excited by the day to meet little Coop!
