Happy Mother's Day!!

Happy Mother's Day to all you hard workin', fantastic mamas! Keegan especially wants to give hugs to Grandma F, Nana, and of course his own Mommy :) He is so so lucky to have the gals in his life!

Mommy spent most of the weekend with other mamas, sans kiddos, running a race. The Market to Market in Iowa started in Jefferson and ended in Des Moines for a total of 75 whopping miles...all running. 7 runners, 17 exchange points, and a whole 'lotta fun landed these gals disqualified due to being TOO fast!! Long story but it's true. We finished in 10 hours and 45 minutes and smiled most of the way. Mommy may have said a few not so nice words the last 3.5 miles but whatever.

                                         Friday night getting psyched up

Starting line! Go Pavement Princesses!

One of the exchange points: Renee is in pink coming to hand off to Cari in pink

Random shot of all the people waiting at one of the exchange points....some of the runs were so pretty!

This is on Mommy's last leg, also the final leg of the whole race. Part of the reason for this picture was it was a peaceful, pretty run...the other reason being it gave Mommy a reason to stop for 2 seconds

Crossing on the dam in Des Moines...you can see the state capitol in the background

After the race picture of the family members that ran: Kay, Mommy, Cari, & Tracy

Aunt Cari has way more pictures of the actual race so see her blog if interested!

Mommy got back home on Mother's Day and took a nap with Keegan followed by a trip to the zoo and out to dinner.

Checking out the giraffes...he woke up from his nap asking to go see the giraffes

                                          Why hello baby elephant

Keegan talked Mommy & Daddy into a train ride around the zoo

And finally, last year around this time Great Aunt Rita was at the zoo with us and had a good idea to take a picture every year by this elephant statue

Daddy took a video of Keegan flying his first kite this weekend but youtube is being uncooperative at the moment. Hopefully we can post it soon.

That's all folks. Happy Mother's Day to all. Mommy sure does feel like a pretty lucky one and thinks Mother's Day should be a day for us to realize how lucky we are that our babies picked us to be their Mommies! So, thank you Keegan for being my baby boy--I love you to the moon and back!
