Bittersweet.

Mommy is shedding a few tears as this blog is posted...for this is the last one before her and Daddy leave for Florida...for 5 days...with no Keegan. (pause while Mommy wipes tears and blows her nose)

Anyway...Keegan and another fun filled, busy weekend. Saturday he went with some friends downtown to the Rodeo Parade (yes, another one)..complete with a livestock show and a petting zoo area. He loved it!

Watching the parade with Daddy....he scored a sucker..and loved every messy minute!

Petting the goats...he liked them a lot more then petting zoos without cages!

A kennel full of tiny puppies!! Loved and kissed on tons of them!

Sat in the wheel of a huge John Deere

                                          Hanging with buddy Charity

After all the Rodeo fun, Keegan got to watch (well, from the church nursery) his cousin Kynnedy get baptized!

"Smelling" flowers.....which apparently takes place in one's mouth these days

                                     Quite the good looking family

And Mommy was silly enough to give K a piece of chocolate for the drive home...

After a great weekend Mommy & Daddy are extra sad to start the week as they take little man to stay with Grandma and Grandpa from Thurs-Mon so they can go watch a friend get married in Florida. Fun will be had but Keegan will sure be missed!

Weekend O' Football

Keegan spent much of his weekend just hanging out...a lot of football (and Thomas) was watched. Saturday he got to go to his friend Charity's 1st birthday party where he spent hours playing with kiddos and loving new toys! We watched the Hawkeyes do their thing (losing it at the last minute) and the Huskers do their thing (blow the other team away).

Sunday he spent most of the afternoon playing outside and watching football--Go Chiefs!!

Giving Charity a birthday hug--amongst many other hugs

Looking outside with a new friend

                                              Go Hawkeyes! *Sigh*

Once he found the pink jeep it was impossible to get him out!

Bundled up for a walk with Mommy & Kona! (Daddy's hat, folks, Keegan tried to explain he hates the Raiders but Daddy wouldn't listen)

My handsome, ornery, raiders hating/chiefs lovin' blue eyed boy

He learned to say "football" clear as day and spent a lot of the morning throwing it around!

Keegan, Mommy, & Daddy are all sad to see the weekend end....until next time!

Just Because....

Just because Keegan is so cute and brightens Mommy's day every morning.....we thought we'd brighten your day, too!

                                                Mr. Blue Eyes

Mommy thought it'd be fun to rewind a year and see what Keegan looked like at 6 months....wow a year changes a lot! (not the cheesey smiles though--they remain the same!)

Have a wonderful day!

18 Months!!

Our Keegan is officially 18 months old!!! Or...1 1/2 years old...when do you switch from months to years?! Anyway...he is absolutely mommy & daddy's pride and joy and is the most amazing little boy ever. He is full of smiles (well, except when told no), giggles, and all around fun!

At 18 months (or 1 1/2 years) Keegan weighs somewhere around 24-25 pounds and is in the 32-33 inch range. These are guesses as he won't go for his doctor's visit for another week or so. He has been a super happy kiddo from day 1..despite some serious woes. If there is a strange illness to get..Keegan finds it. From bad reflux as a baby...to whooping cough....to his most recent staph infection on his..well...man parts...he has been such a trooper. Oh, did we mention the gazillion ear infections?! Mommy has spent the last few days thanking God that Keegan is such a easy going, good natured kid or mommy might be gray..or bald.

Time out from commentary (aka mommy bragging on her child) for a picture...

Keegan & Mommy had a jump on the bed-athon and there was lots of giggling!

Anyway, Keegan is running, jumping, talking, and so much more. He adds words daily and has most recently learned to count to 3. Most of you know this, as mommy is beyond impressed at her baby genius, and has spread the word. He occasionally points out the right color but pretty sure the only one he truly knows is purple. We won't worry about him learning colors as his daddy...and grandpa..and uncles...are color blind. How awful--not being able to see Christmas colors?!

Another picture time out....

Keegan's favorite past times are reading, playing with Kona, dragging his poor nasty blanket around, playing with trains, and building blocks. And of course anything outside. Oh! And Thomas! Thomas is on the TV as long a Keegan is awake. Period.

Keegan drug his chair inside and sprawled across for a bit of Thomas the Train...this led to a Keegan & Mommy dance off...no pictures were taken.

Last weekend, Keegan headed back to Mommy's old stomping grounds for a good old fashion rodeo! He ran (rode in the stroller) in his first 5k race, watched his first parade, played with his cousins, and watched the rodeo! Well, actually he screamed during most of the rodeo..which Mommy attributes to the long sleeves he was forced to wear..can we say sensory issues?!

Grandma & Keegan watching the parade....and enjoying an apple

Playing in the street waiting for the parade...and eating...pumpkin bread this time...the kid has a good metabolism!

Mommy's all time favorite blonde haired blue eyed boy

Searching for rocks with Daddy..way cooler then watching the Rodeo

That's all folks. We will leave you with a few more pictures taken during our bed jumping....

Happy 18 months, Keegan!! We love you sooooo much and can't imagine our lives with out you. We are so excited to see you grow up and use your oh so strong willed personality!

Labor Day 2012

Keegan had quite the eventful Labor Day this year. He had his Aunt Megan & Uncle Ethan in town from Kansas City and had Nana & GG in town...PLUS he got to love on his new baby cousin! Phew...that wears a kid out. We went to the zoo...went for walks...grilled out...and just plain had fun! Pictures...

Out to eat..looking handsome as always

Time out for a photo op at the Zoo!!

Hanging with Uncle Ethan and Aunt Megan at the Zoo

                                    Loving on Baby Kynnedy

Climbed into the Kynnedy's bouncer and covered himself up

Lovin' on Kona..this picture was mostly to show off Keegan's new kicks!

Keegan's fun continues this weekend with a trip to southeast Iowa for the Tri-State Rodeo! Keegan will run "ride" in his first 5k with Mommy....go to his first parade...and cowboy up and hit the Rodeo! Pictures, of course, will follow!
