2 Weeks!

 Happy 2 weeks to Baby Keegan (technically he was 2 weeks this past Tuesday but mommy lost the camera)! A lot has happened thus far in little man's life.

This past weekend Keegan was lucky enough to gain another aunt. Uncle Ethan proposed to his long time girlfriend and she said yes! Welcome Aunt Megan, Keegan is so lucky to have you!

Keegan had lots of visitors over the weekend as this was the first time many family members got to hold and interact with him due to his extended visit in the NICU. He got to see Nana and G.G (Grandma and Grandpa Komp), Megan's family, and his Grandma Fraune and 2 fabulous aunts on mommy's side. Needless to say he didn't lack any loving and spend the majority of the weekend snuggled up to somebody..and of course eating, pooping, and sleeping!

Keegan also went to visit his future In-Laws last night for a taco dinner! Baby Ali should be making her debut sometime in the next 3 weeks and Keegan can't wait to meet his future girlfriend!!

                  This 37 week preggo belly makes it easy to cuddle up to Baby Ali!!!

Judging by the lack of weekend pictures, mommy realizes she seriously lacked in getting many. We promise to do better from now on!! Stay tuned, Keegan has to go back to the doctor next week to see if the puny boy (named by his pediatrician) managed to get back to birth weight!!

The Winner Is...

Keegan! Winner for biggest baby in the nicu that is.  Yes, this is mommy trying to make light of and forget how stressful the last week has been! After a rough start (and by rough start, we do literally mean rough start) Keegan has been cleared as  "well baby" and is home and happy with us. So far he has been an awesome baby and is 100% spoiled. Daddy insists he deserves to have whatever he wants since he had to be stuck in nicu for 4 days. On to pictures....

Amazing

Keegan has made his debut 2 weeks early on March 15 at 9:49am!! Let's just say it's a darn good thing he was 2 weeks early..he came "shooting out" at a whopping 8 lbs 4.7 oz and 20 inches long. Mommy and Daddy think he is just about the most amazing perfect thing we have ever seen (and certainly created all on our own) and love him to pieces. He is giving us a little bit of trouble as he is having a little problem breathing too fast and having a hard time coordinating eating with his fast breathing but we are working on it and hope to be home soon! We will post more pictures asap when the little man is safe and sound home with us.

We will definitely update as soon as we can with more pictures of our perfect little man!!!! We couldn't be any happier or love him any more!!

Hello March!!!!

It's March!! We never thought we would actually make it to March, the month Keegan is due. But here we are, and we are ready and (im)patiently awaiting his arrival. Mommy thought she would share belly pics throughout the past 9 months. We are REALLY hoping not to have to take a 40 week picture!!! A few are skipped over because mommy is too technology challenged to figure out how to make them side by side....

8 weeks-August '10

16 weeks- October '10

28 weeks-Jan '11

9 Months!! 36 weeks- Feb 28, 2011

As you can see, there appears to be a limited amount of room for Baby K to grow much more. Let's cross our fingers for him to make his arrival in a couple weeks!!!

Stick a Fork In Me...

I'M DONE! Unfortunately, Keegan is not done baking. Mommy, however, is definitely ready to be done carting him around 27/4. There are several reasons to  confirm this little man better plan to arrive early...

1. Mommy was checking out at Target and ran her belly into the counter and doubled over in pain (and embarrassment)

2. Mommy wakes up every 45 minutes to pee at night and spends the next 45 situating pillows...by then its time to pee again!

3. Sausage feet and hands. Enough said.

4. 1/2 a bowl of oatmeal is enough to make mommy throw up..there is no room for a stomach in there!

5. "Really..not til MARCH 28?? Or did you mean February?" --lovely people commenting on my due date

6. The "waddle" is perfected

7. Suddenly drinking castor oil to "naturally" induce labor doesn't sound so terrible....

8. You find yourself strategically picking out clothes that are "light" on days of doctor's appointments when being weighed is inevitable

9. The thought of a tanning bed, cold lunch meat, and full caffeinated coffee makes mommy giddy with excitement

10. The nurse at the doctor's office tells you it seems your jeans may be a little tight and cutting off baby's circulation

Mommy really does love her baby boy..he is just wearing out his welcome..quickly. Luckily there is only about 5 more weeks til the due date and with any luck more like 4 until Keegan makes his arrival!

In other news...Grandma Komp hosted a baby shower in Salina this past weekend and mommy and daddy came back with some great loot..as well as had a great time with family and friends!

35 weeks...a little blurry but you get the point!!

The Impossible

It seems we have seen the impossible. Mommy never realized in a million years this sort of stretching and growing was possible. We have officially hit the 32 week mark...only 8 more weeks to go! (Although mommy is desperately hoping for more like 6.5-7 more weeks).  Keegan continues to grow...which in turn makes the belly he calls home grow...and is as active as ever.

While this picture is self explanatory, a humorous story seems appropriate. While in Omaha for the weekend, mommy was in the shower at the hotel and dropped the shampoo bottle. Upon bending over to pick it up, a seemingly growing by the minute behind hit the faucet and turned the shower off. Sigh. 8 more weeks. Or more like 6.5-7.

For good measure, this is what it's like to be big brother Kona. It has obviously been a rough day of eating, pooping, and playing with his rope.

Hopefully only 1 more belly picture at 36 weeks before we meet our little man!! Mommy fears the worst if we must take a picture at 40 weeks..no one needs to see that!

Handsome Little Thumb Sucker

We went and and had Keegan's first photo shoot..a 3D ultrasound at 29.5 weeks.  He proved to be quite the looker with adorable features (if we do say so ourselves).  He is doing awesome and remains to be extremely active with little sleep during the day..and night! These pictures just made us fall even more in love with the little man and can't wait to meet him in 10.5 weeks..or less!

He spent much of his time sucking his thumb and hands....as seen in picture above!
